I am really happy about finding a liquid iron supplement. I add this to my daily green smoothies. It is liquid, so it is more readily available for my body, I look forward to great results using this and I am also going to purchase a liquid multi.

This is exciting I am getting my body and my mind ready for pregnancy. I want to be the model of health before during and after my pregnancy(ies)...I still think I need another year though before I am really ready:look: :lachen:

Women around the world are passionate about their Floradix. Beloved for its ability to prevent common iron deficiency symptoms that may occur as a result of growth spurts, monthly blood loss, pregnancy or digestive malabsorption, Floradix Formula Liquid Iron supports women throughout their lifetimes - before, during and after the childbearing years. For the thousands of women who find they are able to remain free from constipation commonly caused by iron supplementation, Floradix is the natural iron solution.

Are you low in iron?

Iron is one of the most common dietary deficiencies, affecting as many as 4-5 billion people or 66-80% of the world's population, according to the World Health Organization.

Some of the symptoms of iron deficiency are:
• Fatigue and general lack of energy
• Decreased ability to concentrate
• Decreased endurance during exercise
• Increased frequency of infection
• Paleness and/or dark circles under the eyes
• Brittle hair and nails
• Cold hands and feet

Iron deficiency (pre-anemia) and anemia have also been linked to PMS, depression, decreased fertility and complications in pregnancy. An early diagnosis of pre-anemia can be achieved with a simple blood test called serum ferritin, allowing for easy correction and prevention of the progression of symptoms.

Floradix: a quality iron supplement

Easy-to-digest liquid solution

The average person's body will only dissolve and absorb 20% (3) of most solid supplements and will eliminate the remaining 80%, possibly causing side effects such as constipation, gas and bloating. Because Floradix is a liquid solution and does not need to dissolve, 98%3 of the iron is available for quick potential absorption. As a matter of fact, Floradix was found in a recent study to be faster and more effective at bringing iron stores back to normal than iron from food (1), and can help women boost the average diet, which contains only 8-10mg/day, in order to meet the recommended daily iron intake of 18mg.

Highly absorbable iron compounds

Floradix boasts the highest possible iron absorption rate: up to 25% (4) is absorbed for potential utilization (that's more than twice the absorption of other iron supplements or even dietary iron) due to its liquid format as well as the organically bound iron gluconate and co-factors. Better absorption means you don't need to take as much. In a recent study, it was found that due to the high absorption rate of Floradix, very little unabsorbed iron enters into the intestinal tract and therefore constipation is unlikely to occur (5).

I have been using Floradix for a month now.....its the best i've found but in my opinion is still constipates me (but i think i'm an extreme case).

I only take half the dose they recommend.

Tastes OK.

Can this be found at the drug store? I was just put on iron pills yesterday after being admitted into the hospital from losing alot of blood and getting a blood transfusion. I need to build up my iron and blood count.

If it can't be found there, can you find it at Vitamin Shoppe, or GNC?

Hmm...I'm not familiar with this brand but I've been to that website in the past to check out some other products. I have taken two other liquid iron supplements and while they didn't have the best taste...they didn't give me nausea like some other liquid vitamins. Does this have more of sweet taste or bitter taste?

I just finished off another bottle. I couldn't make it to Whole foods so I picked up some Geritol at my local grocery store:lachen:

All these years and I just realized that Geritol was simply a liquid iron supplement. I will be switching back to the Whole Foods brand once I get a chance to go across town:grin:

Funny. I just came from the docs office today and found out that my iron is low again :wallbash:

I have to get blood drawn every two weeks until I'm in a safe zone :(

I just bought Vitron-C but will look into this as well.

thx

This has been a staple of mines for the last month and a half and its the best! I just got another bottle of it today (17 oz) for just $24.63 at the Vitamin Shoppe. Go to www.vitaminshoppe.com and run a search for it. When you find it print it out and take it with you to the store. They will honor the internet price in the store.

My nails are really benefitting from it. Not sure about the hair b/c I keep it tied up all the time.
