I just wanted to know has anyone tried the fiber 35 diet? This is the diet where you try to get 35 grams of fiber a day. Well I have decided to give it a try because I tried it for three days in a row and the first day it like eliminated my cravings. I ate less than I have ever ate. Also I make it super easy and eat 1.5 cups of Fiber One cereal in the morning which is 42 grams of fiber and i'm set for the whole day. No bunch of money, no powdered smoothie drinks, just cereal and whatever else I want to eat. Also it's said that 1 g. of fiber blocks 7 calories from being absorbed. Also after 3 days my belly is starting to "deflate"!

I've been trying to consume more fiber because I want to be more regular but it's kind of hard because I don't always have time to eat food with high fiber content. I've been eating raisin brand every morning. I guess I can switch to fiber one when I'm done with the raisin brand.

I read about this diet in the Womans World magazine...my mom and I went out and purchased the book(i havent read thru mine), but my mom has read thru her copy of the book. We went and purchased the Fiber 35 shake(you can find it at Whole Foods) and we split it up but i havent tried.

This is interesting because I have been upping my fiber through the use of Benefiber and/or FiberSmart. My pounch is shrinking not drastically but I noticed it the other day. That might be a way to get your fiber. I dunno if you can do 35 grams a day with the powder alone but it will help.

I didn't know they had an actual diet book about this..I heard that getting 35 g of fiber was great (more if your diabetic, which is hard) and that the avg. american woman MAY get 11 g of fiber a day, which isn't enough.
Eating a high fiber cereal *like fiber one* is a good idea, along with beans, lentils, pears, oranges, berries, broccoli and other veggies, throughout the day..there's more high fiber foods out there, but those are the ones that I actually LIKE and can think of right now.
Make sure you up your fiber slooowlly, and drink a LOT of water.

I got the book months ago, read it and put it to the side. Since that Woman's World article I picked it back up. I'm all over this one.

Well Fiber makes you um..poo. And without sufficient water intake - all this extra #2 time is going to leave you veeeery miserable. Just a word of caution. :lachen:

Fiber also makes you gassy, so gradually increase your fiber intake so your body can get used to it. I eat a lot of fiber and I still poot all the darn time. But I do have to say that fiber is great for clearing the crap out of your system. Fiber + water = smooth moves.

I've been trying to increase my fiber intake, not so much to lose weight, but just to keep things moving (if you know what I mean )
Fiber One is a great source. I'll sometimes have it as a snack (1/2 cup) mixed with yogurt and it's pretty good.
Other great options for fiber are beans, there are some whole grain pita/fajita style breads that may have 15grams of fiber in one slice!
Also, a good fiber snack are Fiber One bars - there's chocolate and peanut butter flavor, and they give you 9grams of fiber
I also have made the switch to whole wheat pasta 90% of the time and that has a good amount of fiber as well!
Fiber rich foods also keep you full, so if you are on a diet, smaller portions of high fiber foods will keep your tummy satisfied!
Just make sure to drink a lot of water with a high fiber diet!

Yeah it does make you gassy and poo like everyday sometimes 2x a day, but i look at it as my system being cleaned out. It doesn't bother me its not like you are just passing gas or poo all day long and actually i feel better like more energy im not miserable or anything, i guess i drink quite a bit of liquids though so maybe that's why! Imma stick with it and see what i get:spinning:
I am doing weight watchers, increasing my fiber, drinking a spoonful of acv daily and exercizing like crazy. I am down about 17lbs since august. I haven't been doing all of this since August just been adding and trying different things since August. The rawfood diet was not working for me. I gained weight.
Anyway I have a question can or should I take an enzyme if I take benefiber?
I love fiber and it makes a big difference!

My diet is about 90-95% raw...I get tons of fiber and I use the restroom 3-4 times per day.
I love fiber from Kashi, Vitamuffins, whole grains, and fruits and veggies.
I also make a mean bean soup :lick:

Just be careful not to dive into the fiber at once.
I had bought the Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal and let me tell you it was
1) Very crunchy to the point my teeth were working overtime
2) Not bad
3) High in fiber and I ate a lot in one sitting so it had me doing overtime in the bathroom.:nono: Thought I was dying.
Sorry if too much TMI but that experience alone taught me not to underestimate the power of fiber.
I hope the diet works wonders!

Kashi "crunch" does kind of bite back doesn't it? LOL. I like it though. I have to put fruit in mine to love it. I also sprinkle the cereal over my yogurt to get it in too.

It is good, but you can get it cheaper at the Vitamin Shoppe.

How many grams of fiber?
The shake has 20grams of protein and 10 grams of fiber. The bars have 10g fiber and 10g protein.
