Do you wear sunscreen?? POLL!!

Since I'm assuming that in one way, shape or form most of the ladies on this board are women of color (not necessarily black women, but we've all got SOME melanin)... I want to know, how many of us have adopted a sunscreen routine?

I wear sunscreen EVERY single day on my face and body.

I use Creme De Corps Lightweight Body Lotion w/ SPF 30 daily. I apply Aveda's Spf 15 to my face and my makeup (Bare Escentuals) also provides a small amount of Spf (15 or 20).

I've worn sunscreen since I was in my early 20's (knocking at 40's door now...close...lol).

I never wore sunscreen until I got my tattoo. After getting it I would wear it almost everyday and then I slacked off only putting it on my tat everyday. Lately with it being so hot I would try to apply all over everyday but I stopped once it cooled off again.

I wear it on my face, arms, and back of hands. I've tried to wear it on my chest but I always end up with these weird breakouts. But I should just find a product that won't break me out cause an aging chest sure ain't pretty. :perplexed

Yes, especially in the summer. I will just do my face in the winter.

Since reading posts here I will prolly start putting on my hands.....don't want to forgot the hands

At the suggestion of my dermatologist and esthetician, I wear it mostly on my face and neck. I do my arms more in the summer. And my whole body when I go to the beach.

I wear Clinique Sun Care body gel on my face and neck. Creamy sunscreens do not agree with my skin. I am begging for a breakout if I do that. :nono: I wear Neutrogena Fresh Cooling body mist on my body.

I also didn't think about my hands or my chest. I will add those to my routine as well.

I need to start wearing it more often. I wore it all the time last summer...

I dont want to go thru the process of lotioning up, AND sunscreen-ing up in the morning every day... just takes too much time... but if i could find a great combo of the two that smells decent, offers great moisture, and offers reasonable SPF protection, then i think it would be easier for me to use it everyday.

Yes, I wear sunscreen everday. I wore it when I was using AcneFree (they have a wonderful sunscreen but it's just so darned expensive) and I wear it now that I am using Alpha Hydrox's line. You run the risk of sunburn when using products contain those amounts of glycolic acid, so you have to wear sunscreen if you're going out in the sun.

I mainly use moisturizers with sunscreen in them. Otherwise I use Neutrogena dry touch.

Yes , ALWAYS everyday even if it's cloudy. I wear it on my face and body.

Everyday for the last 12 years. My sunscreen is my facial moisturizer, so I don't have to try and remember a separate step.

I try to remember my hands in the morning, but not so much during the rest of the day. I need to do better.

Yes on my face and driving arm all the time, cuz I have some scars I am trying to fade and don't want to re-pigment.

Otherwise, I think it's a good general rule of thumb to use sunscreen.

I wear tinted moisturizer every single day and that has an SPF of 15, and then pressed powder over that with an additional SPF 15.

I use Coppertone SPF 45 on my arm though.

I use the regular SPF 15 on other exposed areas.

I wear a whole lot of clothes, though...lol. So there are rarely any exposed areas unless they are the two things sitting up on my chest underneath my chin :grin:

We wear sunscreen at the beach because we are out there all day.
But if our melanin protects us from slight sun damage, why are so many of you wearing it all over and every day.

I really want to know.

I wear sunscreen on my face everyday. It's my saving grace. People always ask me if I wear "cover-up", which I do not. I only wear sunscreen on my body in the summer.
