Have you tried going to dermatologist? If not I recommend that you do so. SOmetimes trying a ton of over the counter products can make your skin worse. I have used DCL and Md Forte lines with great success, some dermatologists sell these lines in their office and you can purchase these products online also.

When someone tells me they have tried everything and still are not getting better, no matter what the ailment, I always return to diet. Now many doctors say diet has nothing to do with acne but I beg to disagree. It's just like no one told me the many moons when I had eczema, hayfever or recurrent yeast infections that diet could fix all that, and yet that was the answer.
So since I don't know much about acne, I did a quick search and found a few articles. I'll post a link to one in case it might be helpful. I have a friend who breaks out if she eats dairy products, so perhaps something in your diet works against the remedies you've tried? But I agree that rather than try to fix it alone, get a dermatologist to help you out. Perhaps keep a diary for a week or two of what you eat, as it might help him/her solve your problem.

I found this part most helpful....thanks for sharing Nonie
Food That Can Make Acne Condition Worse
Do not take excess amount of sugar, fruit juices, sweets, processed flour, baked goods, and trans or hydrogenated fats. If you eat breads, cakes, chips etc on regular basis then you are likely to promote acne. Do not take excess amount of brazil nuts, walnuts, almonds, and other nuts. Studies show that peanuts and peanut butter sometimes make acne worse in some patients. Do not take excess amount of milk products, including ice cream and cheese. Studies show that whether you take milk was whole, low fat, or skim, there is an association between milk consumption and acne. The reason is that there is a high amount of hormones produced in the milk of cows. Do not take excess amount of vitamin E supplements. Studies show that some patients notice acne pimples after taking vitamin E. The connection between acne and vitamin E is still uncertain. In few cases, acne aggravated after very large intake of B vitamins.
Which Food IS Good For You
You should increase the intake of foods that may improve acne condition. Such foods include fish like halibut, salmon, tuna, sardines. These can make a positive difference in your skin's health. Increase the intake of vegetables, preferably organic. Try a variety of vegetables instead of just few ones. The combination of fish and vegetables can be the best meal from the point of view of improving health and acne. Drink a lot of water. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water can keep you safe from bowel diseases and acne.
Also, my face has been clearing up beautifully since I started using Mychelle's products...shout out to DI...

I second the MD Forte but remember less is more and also breakouts while using a product is normal if the skin in purging itself but if you stop and start something too much it never gives anything a chance to do its work. See Divine Inspiration Acne Elimination in the sticky section of forum. It must be a complete package which does take some time. Water, diet, supplements like B-complex and good skin regimen. Don't worry your skin will come around just stay calm and pray and ask God for wisdom. Staying calm will help with the oil production. Take one day at time and make small changes in your life and don't forget exercise.

I'm with the ladies on diet. Lots of water. Cut out the carbonated beverages. And avoid UNNATURAL sugars (high fructose corn syrup, sucralose, guclosamine etc). I'm a huge juice girl and realized that the more I drink fruit juices with unnatural sweeteners, the more my face breaks out.
Leafy greens and onions are great at cleaning out your system - ridding your body of all those yucky toxins that you accumulate over the days.
As far as products go: I know how you feel - in the past 5 months I've probably tried it all. Here's the history:
I've tried Neutrogena, Aveeno, Juice Beauty and Alba Organics.
What I've found that works (thanks to some ladies here - DivineInspiration!!):
* Dessert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash
* Dessert Essence Tea Tree Oil Cleansing Pads - Tea Tree oil is a natural astringent and is also great at evening out skin tone and texture. During the winter months when I lose my tan, I tend to get light spots on my face and the tea tree oil is great at reducing and eliminating these spots.
* Dessert Essence Facial Cleansing Scrub - I use this probably twice a week.
* Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Serum - I apply a thin layer to my face at night.
* Aveeno Positively Radiant Moisturizer with SPF. I'm thinking of switching to Murad's Pomegranate "Skin Perfecting Lotion".

I truly feel your pain. Daily exercise and tretinoin cream have made a world of a difference for me for the past 3 months!!! I've been to the derm, been on all the pills, used the creams, ointments, on and on. I took a trip to Dominica (not D.R.) back in June and walked into a local pharmacy and picked up some tretinoin cream .05% OFF THE SHELF for $7!!!! I was amazed at the difference in my skin. You can find it online, but it's $62 and up :(. I'm trying to get family members to send more, because I refuse to pay that much in the U.S.
I cleanse with the Dove beauty bar (pink), apply tretinoin at night, exercise at least 4x a week, and drink lots of water. Keep it simple! I stay away from junk food (fried, no soda, etc). Good luck, I know how you feel..I'm 27 and was just fed up with the breakout cycle.

I just heard from a raw foodist that cucumber juice is the BEST for clearing up skin. Do you have a juicer?

Mandy, I recommend good old fashioned nearly free H2O {water} drinking! I do my best to guzzle at least 2 quarts a day. I also use Oil of Olay soap, once in a while mixed with a teaspoon of baking soda- it acts as a mild demabrasion and oil remover and then Olay daily lotion. Once in a while I use HIMANI GOLD in the tube or the jar. Also important...KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF YOUR FACE!!!!!!!!!!

Cosigning on what Noni said..... diet diet, diet....
So so true. Diet plays a HUGE role in acne; I just realized this a couple of yrs ago. As long as I follow a good diet my face is free of breakouts.:ohwell:
