Okay yall
Im late at everything, im 19 and untill now, i've only my eyebrows done when needed, wore mascarra and chapstick or lip gloss. and thats it....but its not kickin it anymore

This is my exact skin color
http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2007/09_02/campbellG1010_468x733.jpg

I want to have
-that smooth creamy complexion that looks "polished" (lack of better words)

-Eyes & lashes that have somthing going on, but still still simple

-some color to my lips, but not too much

-eyebrows that are more defined, its like they need more color
Like this
http://z.about.com/d/movies/1/0/h/Q/O/stomptheyardpic2.jpg

Because im lookin like this
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/195/505971574_1e1e444dc7_o.jpg
(not all like that), but.....you know....plane jane

Im thinking i need
-Foundation

-An eyebrow pencle (or maybe get them tinted? my hair is jet black)

-Nude lipstick (& nude lipliner?)

-Longer eyelashes (:look:, i guess better mascarra)

-And i dont know what kind of colors to buy for my eyes, they are naturally dark....like a smokey look....people think i wear makeup for that already. soo i dont know what to do with that

So i need to know what do i buy to smooth my skin (and hints on brands and shades)
A lipstick & liner color
And what to do with my eyes so they can pop alittle more (colors...whatever)

Just an FYI the MAC Hyperreal has been discontinued. Some stores still have some in stock, but once that's gone that's it. If you can find it, just know that you may not be able to get it later on when you run out. I've been wearing it for a few years now 9I actually switched to it because my old foundation was being discontinued) and I was upset when I found out. :ohwell: I even did a live chat with the people at the MAC website to make sure.

Hey,

Just wanted to suggest a few of my favorite brands. For eyeshadows and blushes I have found that the Laura Mercier brand wears very well and allows for a smooth application (not streaky or overpigmented) which is nice if you are new to applying make-up.

For make-up brushes, particularly blush and powder brushes, you truly get what you pay for (in my opinion). If you are going to splurge in any area it should be this. Having a high quality brush makes application that much more effortless and ensures less "amateurish" mistakes. For this area I would go for the more professional lines (Make-up forever, Vincent Longo, etc..) and forego brushes from typical make-up counter brands (Estee Lauder, Lancome, etc) or any blush brushes that have blunt ends rather than tapered. Tapered will give a more smooth and even application.

For mascaras, I love Lancome Definicils! It is an immediate lash elongator and is not clumpy.

Hmmm..... I know there is more but my brain is getting a little fuzzy. If I think of more i will be back!

Girl I don't know. I was able to find one at another store and it was the last one. I've been checking ebay and other places online with no luck. I have some samples from the counter but that's about it. The woman at the store had me try something similar the day she told me it was discontinued but it just wasn't the same.

I will deff. try Lancome Definicils next (i was reading reveiws and alot of people seem to love this stuff)

RelaxedHair!!!!: I just wanted to say thanks again. I went to Ulta and brought everything (and more....:nono:I went crazy) I was so happy with the look, now i think im about to become obbseesed.
The only thing was they didnt have the Mac lipstick shade, and come to find out i have alot of limitations when it comes to lipstick. Im darkskinned so i've learned i need to stick to browns & plums. But, the lighter ones seemed to ashy/ghostly looking, and the dark ones were just to bold (especially the plum ones, they looked too red on me) ....and i learned this after i had brought 9 brown & plum shade lipsticks
Then i went back & the clerk who was about my color told me she uses a base color lipstick or foundation, then other ones...and it evens them out so they wont be too bold, light or dark. So she showed me this N.Y.C. color called iced cafe for $1 which i thought was going to be pure garbaje. I put it on, then the other shades and it was soooo pretty.
Im trying to find the same color of the N.Y.C. iced cafe in Mac or another brand that isnt cheap...but i guess if it aint broke dont fix it because it gets the job done well:yep:

Anyway....enough blabbing

THANKS!!!

You sure are right, i went & they said it was over

So what difference did it make to your face/what did you use it for? You think you can do without it?
I used everything else Relaxed said & it was beautifull, but i still wanted to try this becuase she said it gives the dewy look to your skin, right now my skin is clear & the bronzer does well with giving alittle shimmer & brightness

Anyway, if you ever find something as good & you remember, please make a post about it or pm me

It has this irridescent shimmer in the foundation. Like it doesn't look real shimmery in person but it makes your skin look really glowy. When I would see it in pictures it looked absolutely fab compared to the regular foundation I had been wearing before. The one I wore before looked fine, but that was just it. The hyperreal gave me this gorgeous glow without looking like I had a face full of foundation on. And it went on real smooth. You didn't need a lot of it. I'm going to have to stalk ebay now to find more. The Nordstrom website still has every other color but the one I need. I might just buy the nw500 instead of the nw600. I can get away with the 500, my first bottle was that color. But the 600 matches better. :ohwell: I still have a little over a half of that last bottle I bought left but I only wear it when I'm going out or something because I don't want to use it up.

Hi Fluffy

have you tried tinted moisturizer? That way you'll get a smooth finish to your skin without the heaviness of a foundation. Plus, you dont have to be a makeup artist to put it on perfectly. And since you're 19, you should show off how great your skin probably is ...now is the time to get away with not wearing foundation!

...just my 2 cents

Co-signing on the tinted moisturizer tip. If you don't normally wear makeup, wearing a full face of foundation might be a bit much for you, especially if your skin is pretty clear. I've been wearing Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer and it gives coverage and the dewy look while letting your skin come through and not look like a mask. You can put it on with your fingers, so no brushes needed! Check it out.

Yes this one is REALLY nice!!! As the day goes on it give a nice dewy, glow to your skin. I suffer from hyperpigmentation but I still use this all over then use a concealor on spots. Its better for my skin. This foundation may clog up ur pores... this an Victoria Secret's Bare Bronze works well for me...

No, i never even heard of it. Thanks alot. Because my skin is in good condition, i was just looking for a smooth finish like you said

So when is the time to wear foundation? When you are getting wrinkles? Is it only nesscary if you have scars or pimples?

And you dont have to match up perfectly since its more of a lotion?

How long does it usually last you & where do you normally purchase it from?
It seems like u would have to buy that stuff 2x a week. You must are only supposed to use a dime sized amount

you should wear foundation if you're going to be taking photos (so for your yearbook ? or professional photos- or dances you might go to ...etc)

foundation should match. so should tinted moisturizer even though it sinks in. If it is too light it will leave you looking a bit ashy

When i ran out of tinted moisturizer i mixed some regular moisturizer with a couple of drops of foundation.

...I cant say about the wrinkles. I'm not that old yet. haha

If I were you, I'd do the following easy look for day:
-tinted moisturizer. if you have a blemish then use concealer first.
-mascara
-fill in eyebrows using a dark brown powder- it looks more natural than pencil.
-use that same powder to line your eyes for night
-lip color/gloss whatever you like (and liner for going out/formals,etc)
-bronzer (not sparkly for day) on cheekbones, and under eyebrow for browbone highlighting

that way, you really don't have many things to fool with, and you're polished yet still natural looking. You can vamp it up at night with a smoky eye, and more defined lips with a lip pencil

but for day to day, you really don't need that much IMO.
