So, I'm watching all of these makeover shows and a lot of experts talk about using different shades of foundation to do contouring and whatnot. While the results look awesome on television I worry that it won't look natural in real life . . . and furthermore, who has time for all that . . . not me!
Just wondering if anyone here does this . . . .

I have one shade I use in the cooler months when I am lighter and another shade that I use in the summer...
Who has time to use diff foundation? I think that using contouring powder would be easier and faster.. but I don't need that either.

Ooh, contouring powder . . .whassat???It is a brown powder without glitter or sparkle used to add shadow...
Hence the name 'contouring powder'
I never use two shades at one time either. I am pretty much like Vester. I use once shade in the winter and one shade in the summer. If needed, I will use bronzer.

I don't think contouring with darker and lighter shadows look natural in day light. It might work at night in a dark club, but I find that it's better to embrace your features and use other tricks instead.
For instance if you love your mouth try to wear a glossy lipstick to enhance that feature and wear less make up on your eyes.
I do have different foundation for Summer and Winter like the others, but I don't use them for contouring.

Here's an excellent tutorial on why using more than one foundation is important. I almost always wear two foundations when I am working, but not on a regular day. The video is done by celeb makeup artist Eve Pearl. I learned a TON watching this!!!
