Fall 2007 Clothing Purchases

I know it may be a little early but I was wondering what everyone was planning to buy this fall? I usually start planning my purchases in July and start buying things in mid August. What are your must haves/hot items this season?

I don't buy many trendy pieces of clothing and within the past year and half I have ditched all my old clothing and have been replenishing my closet with work clothes, basics and classic pieces.

I plan on or hope to purchasing the following:

2 Kooba handbags (neutral colors)
1 or 2 Andrew Marc handbags (neutral colors)
A nice black trench coat
Mid heel pumps in neutral colors for work
Accessories like belts, jewelry etc.
Dress slacks in various colors with and without the cuffs
Casual slacks (khakis) in various colors with and without cuffs
A pair of chocolate brown leather knee boots
Cute long sleeve tees tops, blouses, and lightweight sweaters for work, weekends and going out.
Several button down cardigans or sweater coats
A pair of designer jeans in a dark wash to wear with heels
A few pair of casual jeans in dark wash for flat shoes
2 Fall skirts
2 Fall dresses
1 Lightweight fall/winter coat (not sure what color)
I suit (jacket with slacks and skirt to match, not sure what color)


It seems like a lot but I plan on purchasing this stuff over a 2-3 month period. I may come back and add more :grin:

- I've been eyeing a Gryson tote - it's grey and black, perfect for the fall/winter and it's on sale now at Nordstrom
- a custom trench from Burberry (I have a hard time with the sleeve length on ready to wear)
- a few cashmere t-shirts, good to wear fall/winter/spring

Cashmere tees Mmmm...... where do you normally buy these? I saw some last season on sale.... I think there were at Macy's ?, the quality did not seem to good though so I did not buy any.

I have seen cashmere sweaters online at JCrew. Do you know if the quality is good?

I usually pick them up at J Crew (they just got in some new colors:) ) or the brand Tse from Saks or Niemans. I got one from Macys (It was there in-house brand) some years ago and it got the little fuzzies so fast - not a good sign of quality cashmere:mad:

Thanks J Crew it is :grin: I think I'll like the long sleeve V neck tees. The TSE brand sweaters look super nice. I love, love the sweater dresses on the SAKS site. But $800 :eek:, they will have to go on my wish list :look:

I will only buy what will be in for fall. We started a presale at my job and these are the trends:

Colors:
Purple, navy and gray

Materials:
Suede and patent leather is still in

Trends:
Menswear and snake skin

If you have a Saks or Nieman's in your area, stop buy. Pre-Sale is going on. I just picked up a Kooba tote for $188, that is still $695 in other stores and online. I also saw a few Marc by Marc Jacobs at Saks. Online didn't have too much....

Thanks for tip. There is a Saks here, but no Neiman's. Maybe I'll check them out, even though I avoid the Saks here like the plague because of the snooty white sales women. I don't think they are used to many of 'us' shopping in that store. I much rather go to Nordstrom the sales people are so much nicer, but they are a smaller store it seems and they don't carry what I am looking for at times.

They sure do :grin: There plenty of room here both of us :lol: My fall list is growing and growing, I gonna run out of loot before I get everything. There is always next season though, shopping never ends.

I just started stocking up on fruity colored cashmere tops and sweater sets.

After that I am going to purchase a few new flats that I plan to wear in the fall AND winter.

I own a vehicle so I am not really worried about my feet being cold.:look:

I'm so out of the fashion loop, it aint even funny! From browsing, I definitely want to check out those Joe's Jeans. Aside from that, I lost weight so I'm going to be starting from scratch. My focus this fall/winter is to purchase timeless pieces and then accentuate those pieces with updated accessories.
