Hi Ladies! This will be the 1st challenge that I've started - so please be patient with me as I figure it all out!
After starting a thread titled "Have you let yourself go?", and subsequently reading the blog of an associate on another site - in which she talked about getting "her body back" - I decided to challenge myself personally to do something that I had never done before: Love the body that GOD designed just for me, and more importantly TAKE CARE of that body, as if GOD designed it just for me!
Some may say think that I don't have much to work on, but conviction is a mutha - and I know I haven't been very good to my physical self.
So I've decided to fight bad habits (poor eating, laziness, little to no physical activity) and I'm taking back MY BODY!!!
There's nothing wrong with a little humble vanity, you've got to live with your body for the rest of your life - so you might as well enjoy it!
Hopefully you'll join me in my challenge. The rules are pretty simple:
1. List your bad habits, or at the very least what you HAVEN'T been doing to maintain that body you were blessed with, and what you WILL do to correct that. Let's see if we can develop accountability partners as well.
2. Make a promise to put more effort in loving what you see when you look in that mirror. You may not be at your "goal" yet - but love all of you in the meantime!
3. Give someone else a sincere compliment every single day of this challenge. Taking the time to appreciate the beauty in someone else will encourage you along your own journey. (It may sound totally unrelated to the challenge, but just trust me on this one...there's nothing like bringing a smile to someone elses face)
4. If you feel comfortable - post a picture of what you're fighting for. Perhaps it's been as long as 10yrs, or as little as 10 months - but remind yourself of what you're working for.
5. List your goals, include everything you'll be working/aiming for.

Ok... I am soooo happy you started this challenge SummerRain :) First off, I've been 'seriously' trying to get MY Body back for about 6 months now. I've lost inches but now I'm ready for the scale to move! I gained weight 3 years ago and it's time to turn this train around while I'm in my twenties. I can do this I am participating in the 'LHCF Fitness Boot camp' as well!
2. Make a promise to put more effort in loving what you see when you look in that mirror. You may not be at your "goal" yet - but love all of you in the meantime!
I promise to keep up my exercise regimen of Cardio 4-5 times a week and strength training as needed. I promise to track calories and do my weekly weigh ins. I will still post my progress/obstacles in the Fitness Bootcamp thread.
3. Give someone else a sincere compliment every single day of this challenge. Taking the time to appreciate the beauty in someone else will encourage you along your own journey. (It may sound totally unrelated to the challenge, but just trust me on this one...there's nothing like bringing a smile to someone elses face)
I can do this-- I love giving compliments. It's usually the recipient who is a little shy. :p
4. If you feel comfortable - post a picture of what you're fighting for. Perhaps it's been as long as 10yrs, or as little as 10 months - but remind yourself of what you're working for.
Well this is a tiny picture but this was me 4 years ago and this can be me again. You might not be able to see but I felt the best at this time in my life.

I am 5'7" and my short term goal is to lose 40 pounds. After that I would like to tone.
5. List your goals, include everything you'll be working/aiming for.
1. I want my flat stomach and 29 inch waist back.
2. I want my lean and toned thighs back. But the 40 pounds must go.
3. I'd like my collar bones back, please.
4. I am aiming for a size 6 or 8. But I'm taking it one day, one week and one pound at a time. I didn't gain this weight overnight but I can start losing

I am always complimenting people. LOL, don't you remember me calling you out? HAHAHAHAHAH
Ok My bad Habits
Eating when I'm stressed. Eating when I'm upset. Eating when I'm studying. And dreaming of Eating.
Not working out every night like I promised I would. I've curbed my junk mail intake because I'm broke. Oh yeah. Not taking my vitamins every day like I said I would.
My goals
I don't know measurements, but I have my picture of what I'm trying to get back to, or even beyond that. But weightwise, I'd like to be 120-125. I'm currently 143.. maybe.
I want my waist to be smaller, my arms smaller and all over smaller size.
So here's my picture

Great ladies!!
Bad habits: I work 7 days a week and I'm sitting on my behind for 99% of that time...I eat eat eat eat eat like it's going out of style. I only weigh 136lbs, but it's all settled in my torso (neck to waistline), and excess belly fat is as unhealthy as it is unslightly. I need to stick to 3 square meals a day, with healthy snacks in between.
I have to find alternatives to salt. On top of eating like a man, I salt my food up before i even put fork to lips! this has increased my water weight and of course is bad for my health.
I can go days without exerting myself in a physical way. I drive to work, sit at my desk 10 hrs a day. Or on the days when I work my 2nd job (i telecommute) I'll lounge around on my couch with my laptop all day long - eating chips and cookies.
I have been very negligent in drinking the reccomended amount of water on a daily basis. Of course this sucks too.
I will force myself to wake up with enough time to devote 30 minutes to excercise, prayer and meditation. I'll spend at least 30 minutes of my lunch hour walking OR 45 minutes in the evening after work.
I want to regain my endurance and overall toned and fit appearance.

This is me 6 months ago. It was 1 year after I had my 3rd baby. You can see her in the background. :) I have since gained 10 pounds as a result of moving overseas and having to eat out at resturants when we first arrived here and not exercising. I would like to get back to this and even better.

*sigh* Okay, here goes.
1. List your bad habits, or at the very least what you HAVEN'T been doing to maintain that body you were blessed with, and what you WILL do to correct that. Let's see if we can develop accountability partners as well.
I love food. It comforts me when I am sad. It's something to do when I am bored. I am a compulsive overeater, especially since Katrina. When I was 16-19 I was in an environment where I was forced to walk often, so even though I overate then, I burned it all off. Now I'm older, my metabolism has slowed down, and compared to what I used to do, I basically work in a sedentary environment. I've gained over 50 lbs in a little over a year, from a relatively slender but thick 145 to a dumpy and saggy 200 at 5'3. I will Master Cleanse next week for 10 days, and after that I will become a vegetarian.
2. Make a promise to put more effort in loving what you see when you look in that mirror. You may not be at your "goal" yet - but love all of you in the meantime!
Already started. I make more of an effort to dress up in the mornings and I try not to entertain those I'm so fat negative self talk.
3. Give someone else a sincere compliment every single day of this challenge. Taking the time to appreciate the beauty in someone else will encourage you along your own journey. (It may sound totally unrelated to the challenge, but just trust me on this one...there's nothing like bringing a smile to someone elses face)
I usually try and do a good deed or say something nice about someone at least once a day anyway.
4. If you feel comfortable - post a picture of what you're fighting for. Perhaps it's been as long as 10yrs, or as little as 10 months - but remind yourself of what you're working for.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v138/Starian2003/Trouble.jpg
17 or 18, 145 lbs.
5. List your goals, include everything you'll be working/aiming for.
Master Cleanse successfully. Give up meat and dairy. Clear up this acne. Get to waist length by December. Become more positive.
Be 36-27-43 again, instead of 38-40-43. :(

I am loving this challenge. Every since I joined I have been feeling different about my health. I want to be healthy. I had a rude awakening this week. I have gained a lot of weight and did not notice it until I looked in the mirror. I did not even recognize myself :crying3: . I am mad. I was tired when I got off from work but I drag myself to the nature trail in my city and walked 1.5 miles. I need to clean out this junk food and eat healthy foods which I will be doing tommorrow. I am committed.
