Solodyn antibiotic

Was curious if anyone has been prescribed this or was on Solodyn (for acne) and what was your experiences with it? I've changed from Doxycylcline being that the Doxy was giving me yeast infections but I had GREAT results with the Doxy. So I'm hoping I can get the same results.

Ebony, I've never taken any medicines for acne so I can't give any info for you. I just wanted to know how long you have u been taking the doxy. I've read some mixed reviews about the acne coming back even worse than before after about 5-6 months.

I've read some mixed reviews about the acne coming back even worse than before after about 5-6 months.I was on Doxy for about 3 months, but the reocurring yeast infections were bugging me :perplexed But I had no pimples, cysts at all when I got into my 2nd month.

And I'm having mixed feelings about the new medication i'm on (Solodyn) because though it is a tetracycline just like Doxy, the effects aren't as quick. If anything I'm breaking out like crazy, so I hope things get better. I'm also going to inquiry to my GYN about birth control.

Use a probotic which is nature and will help with acne and yeast infections. Antibotics killed good probitics which causes yeast affections and reoccurance of acne and other problems. Proboitcs help the entire intestine area allowing colon to function I use a powder and capsule will never take antibotics unless emergency. Antibotics ruin my stomach.

I was prescribed Solodyn, but I did not purchase it. I do not like taking medications, especially for acne. You become dependent on these drugs, and they can cause all type of imbalances within the body. Try Nature's Cure, it is a homeopathic way to treat acne through internal changes.

Oh I am starting to decrease in my my pustules... slowly but surely.

Hi Ebony, I had acne REALLY bad I tried just about everything but what really worked for me was taking Pantothenic Acid 500mg..3 in the morning and 3 at night I take the VitaminShoppe brand there is alot of info on the net about this vitamin ridding acne do a google search, I take this daily. If you look at my picturetrail album you can see how blotchy my face was in 03' then around fall 04' it did a 360 thanks to Pantothenic Acid I am now able to go without foundation :)...http://www.picturetrail.com/stephanyeshunn pass=scooter :)

Hi Ebony, I had acne REALLY bad I tried just about everything but what really worked for me was taking Pantothenic Acid 500mg..Tried that also, your face looks great ;) -- I really think my breakouts are hormonal, that is why I'm going to try birth control again (was on it for like 2-3 months ages ago, but stopped because I didn't have any insurance). If the Solodyn and BC don't work, I'm going to pursue Accutane because this is ridiculous; 15 years of this nonsense.

I was on Solodyn for two months Nov & Dec last year. I did well as was completely clear I also used Diferrin cream every night. That has changed though cause I'm pregnant and can no longer use any of my perfect regime. but my derm has put me on a mommy a baby safe regime which consists of Cetaphil cleanser, Clidamycin gel AM & Azelex Cream evenings.

I had no side effects w/ the Solodyn . I was very please my derm told me to come off to see if any acne would come back and it didn't . I was very pleased. I hope all is successful during your treatment.
