I need something to replace my MAC studio fix. Even though it looks beautiful on it is very clogging.

This was my next angle.

Do you like dislike? Why?

What do you use the Studio Fix for? Are you only concealing undereye area? Blemishes? Or is it your all over foundation.

I am a self proclaimed mineral makeup queen( I use it on my "clients"), and I can tell you that using mineral foundation is wonderful for many reasons:

It doesn't irritate sensitive skin
It is good for acne prone skin
It never goes bad--doesn't harbor baacteria
It looks like natural skin
It gives a soft focus glow to the face

That said, I don't use mineral foundation as a concealer on myself or others. It isn't enough coverage, and when you use a lighter color in minerals, it looks ashy. I think minerals as concealer is best with white skin.

My concealer of choice is Cinema Secrets--I have genetic circles and a few dots I like to hide. I apply it OVER my minerals, it looks more natural that way.

Often, for pictures, I will use a mineral foundation OVER a liquid or cream foundation. It gives a really soft glow and is fuller coverage than just minerals alone. I just did this with a girlfriend--buffed minerals over her Studio Tech and her skin looked so good, like rich cocoa.

The trick is to find the right shade for you. Too light is not good, but in my experiences working with minerals on other girls is that the wrong undertone will do you in too.

But the right shade looks natural and lovely. I just wouldn't use it as a concealer, though.:)

Hey:)

I just started my Bare Escentuals yesterday but I LOVE IT!! I think it would look great on your skin too. I think we have the same skin tone. But to your question....I was tipped on to put on the Bare Escentuals foundation then my concealor...I use CoverGirl concealor then put on the warmth and I'm good to go. Flawless application and it wont look like you have on makeup. You'll look like you have flawless skin. :D

Yep, that's right. The concealer applied underneath tends to cast a dark shadow, so put it on top of the mineral foundation.

I am using Southern Magnolia Minerals (a small internet company), as they are less expensive and their mineral foundation isn't shiny-glittery.
Only thing, the lady doesn't have an extensive line for blacks, only about three-four colors, and some colors aren't advertised--you have to ask for them. My mother is a chocolate brown and she uses SMM Carmel. I use either Latte or Be-Tan. And I use her Warmth as well.

But BE is great, escpecially for the non shiny oily types. As rootdeep said, Warmth is great as a veil for brown skin tones. It is supposed to be a bronzer/color enhancer for light/white skin tones, but it like a mineral veil on darker tones.

For ladies of color--don't let the BE salesgirl talk you into the regular mineral veil. It is too ashy for our skin tones, no matter what they say about it being translucent. The tinted veil is good for tan ladies like myself, but if you are a cocoa princess, ask for the warmth instead.

AMEN on that mineral veil. I put that stuff against my skin and laughed. Then someone told me I can use it as a concealor I'm not even going to do that. Simply put its not for the chocolate...stick to the warmth.

Melodee you're gonna have to show me some tutorials cuz now I wanna up my makeup game.

So, go for the warmth?

Does the warmth provide any coverage at all? I am not looking for nothing to cover my face, jst even my skin tone and make it look nice and smooth.

Warmth is like a finishing touch to add a glow to your T Zone. Gives you that sunkissed look that MAC would give but cheaper than MAC =)

I didnt find too much of a problem with the regular mineral veil but I'm thinking I'd like to try the tinted one, it may look better.
