There is a thread on here entitled "Guess What Has Cleared up my Acne". That thread has opened up a big can of worms for me. I was just doing a search about my oily shiney face and saw the thread title above so had a read.

The poster states that "Dove Soap" has helped her skin. I still use Dove Soap on my body and I used to use it on my face.

The story starts 7 months ago Approx July 2006. I didnt really have problem skin, an occasional pre-period spot and thats it really.

As I get married in July 07 I decided to start a "proper" skin care regime of cleanse, toner, moisturise. I just used to wash my face with the Dove, never really used a toner and i moisturized with an Avon ANEW face cream and off I went.

Ever since I started my "proper" skin care regime I have had nothing but breakouts breakouts breakouts breakouts, rashes, rashes, rashes...i could go on.

Upon reading this post it occured to me that by changing to a "proper" skin care regime I have messed up my own face which currently has about 5 ugly spots on it and loads of blemishes from ones gone by in recent months.

Now when I say "proper" I mean on reading loads of magazines etc they always say "cleanse with a cleanser..NEVER USE SOAP, ITS TO DRYING", always tone and always moisturise. Even when I speak to beauty experts they say always cleanse with a cleanser suitable for your skin type, tone and moisturize.

You know what, as from today I am going back to my Dove soap. and I pray my skin will say "welcome back girl, where ya been?"

Sod all these expense cleansers that promise flawless skin, I dont give a hoot about toners as even when i had good facial skin I never used one and never had a problem. Why the heck did I change what was clearly working for me. Why was I so silly to change??? :perplexed

If any of you ladies who are using Dove Soap or started using it after this that started, i'd appreciate an update to how your skin is doing.

Dove is the truth! I started getting horrible adult acne in August 2006 (from stress), especially on my chin and cheeks. I bought product after product in hopes of clearing up the acne, but it just got worse! My husband suggested that I go back to the basics. I got to thinking that when I was in college, my skin was sooo clear and it was all due to Dove soap! So now here I am, using the pink Dove and my skin has done a 360! I have some scarring from the acne in 2006, but nothing that a little powder can't fix. Dove is actually fading the scars away.

I have eczema and my dermatologist recommended. I use Dove soap and Aveeno lotion and I haven't had a flare up in over a year!

I use Dove soap and Dove moisturizer, and I always get compliments on my skin. I use either the unscented kind or the one for sensitive skin.

I don't use toner, either.

My youngest nephew has eczema. His parents use Aveeno lotion on him, and it helps out alot.

I know a lady that swears by Dove soap. I got her to try a cleanser by Shisedo (it lathered nicely and had fine granules in it--- I loved the stuff). She said that she thought the Dove soap was better. Her skin was flawless.

I just started using Dove again for my face on Thursday. So far my skin looks clearer. I hope it will help control my breakouts.

I'm a Dove girl too.:) I have used it for over 20 years. When I went in hospital to have my kids, I noticed the hospital used it too. So I stayed with it. Recently, 2 months now, I have been using the Ambi Black soap. I have noticed my skin is a lot oiler than before. So I will move back to and stay with Just Dove.:D I don't use toner either, only on occasion.

I love dove soap, too, but I only use it on my body because its so gentle and doesnt dry me out. Its so gentle so that means I can use it everywhere (you gals know what Im talking about:) ). But Im wondering if I can use it on my face to remove makeup as well. Which bar is everyone using?

I've been using Dove soap for the past month now. It has really worked well for me with clearing my acne and helping to control it. My face also feels smooth and not dry. I am really happy with the results.

I use the extra sensitive one on my face and the normal one on my body.

Dove body wash is the best, I wish it was cheaper ( *whispers* walmart's equate body wash is just as good)

Yes, I still moisturized even with oily skin. My skin has sort of changed now that I started using Dove on my face. It's pretty normal now. I use the Oil of Olay w/ SPF 15 for combination skin. I also exfoliate twice a week.

I just started using Shisedo and I love it! I just wish it didnt cost as much.
