I know this question has (probably) been asked b4, but do you wash your hair after every workout? Rinse? Or nothing, let it air dry?

I'm trying to figure out what I can do since nowadays I workout about 2x per day. I don't want to walk around with a wet head, it's too cold outside.

I don't wash my hair after workouts. I cant with the COLD weather over here, and plus I have put my hair in braids, so my hair doesn't get as sweaty

No, I am not really a scalp sweater! I am more of a body sweater. I hardly even sweat on my face.:look:

Im a heavy sweater so Im still figuring out what to do thru trial and error. When I was relaxed the first time, I wore phony ponys a lot so sweat didnt get to my hair too much, I would just wash it weekly. I just transitioned for a little over a year, and texlaxed (by accident but I like it) a couple of weeks ago. It was a blessing in disguise that its underprocessed bc Ive found that I can just rinse my hair, condition, and let it air dry, scrunching it a little with leave in and sparkle lites gel and Im good to go.

Ive found this is good for me bc this way I dont have to worry about maintaining a straight style (Im only gonna blow dry and flat iron every once in a while), I can just work with what Ive got. So far so good! So for now, Im rinsing and conditioning after work outs and Im also going to start washing once or twice a week, and deep conditioning while I work out and then go in the sauna with a shower cap. Then shower and rinse when I get done. I can kill 2 birds with one stone then!

Nope. Washing my hair & drying it completely is entirely too time consuming to be doing every other day.

I put a light oil on my scalp to offset the salt in the sweat. My hair never gets soaking wet with sweat, but I do like to have something on my scalp before I workout hard.

Sometimes I'll prepoo or DC during my workout. Even id I don't, I still workout with a scarf on my head...otherwise my hair is a MESS afterward. I shampoo/DC 1-2 times per week and workout every other day.

I am in braids but I wash my hair twice a week when I am working out regularly (once co wash and once DC)

I sweat a lot and work out five times a week. I can't stand the way my hair feels when it's dried after a workout (especially when I'm almost 3 months post relaxer, like now) so I do a conditioner wash 4 days and a regular wash the 5th day. I work out at night almost exclusively so it's not disruptive to wash my hair in the evening, sit under the dryer for a little while while watching T.V. and then let it airdry overnight.

I do the same thing I hate sweaty hair.

I cowash after every workout and wash/DC every 3 days. Since I do turbo jam, light sweating is a non issue ! I'm pouring it from head to toe! My hair loves it though. I have close to 2 inches NG that I wouldn't be able to manage without co-washing so it's worth it. :)

i've cut my hair very short, so i guess my answer may not matter too much but I work out about 5-6 mornings a week and wash/rinse my hair every, single time. Some mornings, I already have conditioner/olive oil in my hair from the shower the night before, so I'm just rinsing that out after my workout. But yes, i always wash...but I also have no need to leave the house in the mornings either.

ETA: Oh, and if i do need to leave (and not have time for the dryer) I'll put on a baseball cap or a small scarf and rock a real trendy look that day. It works...believe me...it works.

I workout 2x per day 2-3 times a week and what I do is conditioner wash after the second workout... and then the day/night before I know Im either taking a day off or just doing a single workout do a full wash. Its a pain...and Im going thru a LOT of product!! :( (I have shoulder length + hair)

ETA: 90% of the time I airdry and bun!

I used to wash after every workout, but I think it was a bit too much for me. Now, I wash 2x a week and workout any where from 4-6 days a week.

I don't sweat all over my head after working out, just a little in the neck. So I'm one of those nasty people who just let it airdry

I'm still trying to figure it out. I've been rinsing with water. Last night I co-washed. I don't think my hair likes either one very much...Tonight I'll just let it dry and see what happens. It's just so icky.

I've been using the elliptical so I sweat less..but once I get my running shoes my hair will be soaked.

I've started going to the gym recently, 3 times or so per week, so it's impossible for me to wash and dry my hair when i get back at 10 oclock at night. Instead, I just let it airdry and eventually at the end of the week, I wash it. I'm still trying to come up with a better routine.

I'm with her  I've been working out 5-6 times a week since Dec. and I just can't deal with washing after every workout. I only sweat a little in the nape area so I wash 2-3 times a week and it works for me. :)

I second that...sometimes I look at others that are dripping with sweat wondering...dang am I working hard enough....I know it's not good to equate sweating with getting a really good workout....can't help it sometimes

This was me and personally Im not a "dripper" (I sweat in the neither regions, breast and face the most). But once I pushed my intensity level up..my face strarted sweating more and now I do kinda see a corelation with how much Im sweating and how hard Im working out...

I wash 1-2 times a week and depending on whether I get my hair really wet with sweat, Il rinse/condition in between. If I only got it wet around the hairline, Ill moisturize a little and tie a scarf on my head and when I take it off its smooth again. I dont like it when my ends get sweaty bc It makes me think Im leaving salt on the ends of my hair lol, which we know are prone to dryness anyway :) Think about it, if I leave sweat on my face, there is a salty residue. How do u think our scalps must feel? lol

I think it comes down to figuring out whether your hair thrives more to be super clean all the time or to avoid as much manipulation as possible. I think it depends on YOUR hair. Im still on the fence about mine, not quite sure yet.
