Has anyone experienced this?

This thing began two days ago. It feels like a knot in my throat and sometimes moves down into my chest area. It doesnt hurt (well maybe a little), but it is extremely uncomfortable and has even been waking me up at night. I swallow constantly and I try to make myself belche and it still doesnt help. And if it does, the bubble feeling comes right back. I've also had a mild sore throat with this. Truthfully, I am getting scared...I am not in the habit of having physical issues and problems. When something does happen, I worry. Help :(

I 've never had this problem but it sounds like the start of a Upper-GI problem.

Wow, this would really be weird because I have become one of the most healthiest people I know. I've been eating lots of fruits and veggies, tofu and other proteins such as quinoa. I drink lots of water, herbal teas, consume no meats. I do eat junk from time to time. But nothing on a scale compared to many. I'm currently working on eliminating that much... Or maybe I got it all wrong, maybe eating healthy has nothing to do with this. I was just thinking that a problem like this would happen to person with bad dietary choices.

Oh dont pay me no mind, Im just venting and very scared right now. I never, ever get sick....so this is really bothering me.

I appreciate your response though, I will research this further and make an appointment for the doctor before I scare myself to death *nervous laughter*

Some people are sensitive to certain vegetable and it may cause some intergestion problems. Just a thought. I know tomatoes and tomato sauce does it to me but still eat them.

Have you ever heard of nightshade food? Certain fruits and veggies are "nightshade" and can cause certain symptoms....tomatoes & potatoes are included....here are a few articles

That's funny because for the last couple of days or so, I've been eating very large spinach salads with lots of cherry tomatoes, sliced avocado and celery...very interesting....

Thank you soooo much, ((((hugs)))) these websites were extremely enlightening. I knew nothing about this.

eta: Gastro Esophogal Reflux disease - consumption of nightshade vegetables, particularly tomatoes, can causes a reaction where the stomach contents are pushed back up the esophagus towards the throat with symptoms of heartburn, chest pain, choking while lying down and asthma symptoms when sleeping.

This could be me, but it doesnt feel like the contents of my stomach, it feels like, like I swallowed a large pill and it didnt go down...hmm

Awwww HLD! Don't fret. Perhaps you should see your GP. It doesn't sound serious to me, but I'm sure you'd be put at ease by seeing a professional.

Feel better.

Thanks DI :). I really need to believe this. I am going to make that appointment. Self diagnosing can be very dangerous.

Girl, I'm going through the same thing right now! I was taking antibiotics last week and it started after that. It feels like a pill or some food got stuck in my throat. It doesn't hurt but it's a nagging feeling and it's very annoying. I have a doctor's appointment scheduled for next week. I think it's GERD but I'm going to see a doctor just to be sure.

You might want to check to see if you have Reflux. I was just told that I have that. Was actully at the doctor getting x0-rays for something else and they told me, "oh did u know u have reflux". Also, known as GERD -- look it up on the internet. What you described sounds something like it.

Please let me know how it turned out. That feeling I experienced has been gone since yesterday. It's so weird. It just left! But I still am going to get it checked out.

I've had this happen (hasn't been a while, though).

What did I do to get rid of it? Nada. It just went away on it's own within 2-3 days. I don't know what causes this, but it's really annoying!
