Dealing with Uterine Polyps

:( I just came from the radiologist getting an ultrasound. I have uterine polyps. I know it's not life threatening or anything, but the idea of having my uterus scrapped doesn't sound to pleasant either.

Has anyone else dealt with these? What was your experience?

At least you know what's going on with your body. I on the other hand am having a d & c tomorrow morning and the doctor's can't tell me what's wrong with me. :( I just want this inter-cycle spotting to stop. I've undergone ultrasounds, biopsies and no answers. Finally the doctor said, let's just do a d & c. I'm scared. But I know I will get throught it, especially since I will be under general anesthesia. I wish I could check on this board, but I will be home from work tomorrow until the end of the week. I will definitely get on this weekend.

I went through this 3 years ago when I was diagnosed with a polyp the size of a lemon. I had severe bleeding which caused me to be anemic. I had a D &C as an outpatient procedure, and the growth was benign. The worst part for me was the anesthesia, it made me nauseous. The doctor prescribed birth control pills for a few months to regulate my periods, and I havent had problems since. Good luck to you...

Are polyps and fibroids the same? I was thinking I had fibroids then my doctor says she suspects polyps...I'm all confused. :ohwell:
