Anyone else get discouraged when shopping for premium jeans?

I wear a size 2 in normal clothes, but when I shop for jeans like Sevens, AGs, Citizens for Humanity, Joes, etc., I end up in a larger size than I feel comfortable with - and these aren't skinny jeans where you need to go up a size to get the right look/fit. I just want regular boot cuts.

I feel like I need to just stop eating all together.

Anyone else feel that way?

i have a similar problem. but got to remember that "normal clothes" are usually not normally sized....it's vanity sizing

What do you mean by in a larger size than you feel comfy with?
The premium jeans are usually European cut so the sizes are different than American cut. Their 2 is our 0.

Don't dispair or stop eating little one. Give me that size 2 or 4 goshdarnit!:lachen:

I think Premium jeans are made a bit smaller than regular ole jeans. I bought a pair of Sevens not too long ago and had to take them back to the store b/c they didn't fit (I hate trying crap on in the store). The saleslady told me that Premium jeans tend to run smaller, so it's best to go up a size. There's nothing wrong with you.

I don't pay attention to size, I go for fit. I have jeans in sizes 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 26, 27, 28, 29.......Wash, stretch, cut and brand can make a huge difference. I know that my weight only fluctuates +/- 5 pounds so I understand that sizes don't matter. You also have to understand that besides the joe's honey cut most of these jeans are made for a slimmer, leaner body with less curves, hips and a*s. If you are worried about your body then monitor weight not clothing size, I would look terrible if I shopped by size alone.

Sometimes with premium jeans you may even have to wear different sizes of the SAME brand. Depending on what kind of wash it is, women can wear a 2 in some COH and a 4 in another wash of COH jeans.

The girls on MUA talk about it all the time.

Who cares what the number on the jeans says? As long as you know your body is the same size, what difference does it make?

They don't have enough room in the butt.

I also have that problem. I am petite but I can barely get one leg in my real size: a 4. Them jeans stop right at the thigh or they wont go over my butt. Who are they making these jeans for? Who are the models?

The cut on premium denim is much like the cut on juniors clothing - less room in the hips and butt. Just as you would size up when shopping for juniors clothing, you will most likely have to do the same for premium denim. You are a size 4, that is a missy size, so in waste size for premium denim you are probably a 28 or 29. Considering most denim brands go up to a 31 or 32 you can see they are catering to a certain market.

Each denim line has so many different styles and cuts that it is important to research them before going to the store because you will get frustrated if you go in and pick up a handfull of Rock & Republic jeans and they all fit differently from each other and from the Joe's Jeans. Often you will only find one style that fits US well..that is if you have the typical pear or "applebottom" shape.

Awe ok, great info, thanks! I thought something was wrong with me because I have one pair of Joe's Jeans and they are a 28 and fit ok. I'm not sure what cut/style it is because I got it from Marshalls. Then I tried on the Joes Honey style and a 28 did not fit at all. I could not get it over my butt at all. I also tried on a pair of Blue Cults and a 28 didnt fit either. Couldnt get that one over my butt either. I will definitely start trying on bigger sizes.

No problem deejoy. But I do want to add that stores like Marshalls, Tj Maxx, Loehmann's etc usually sell irregulars- so that may effect fit and their have also been cases of stores having knock-offs, they are not necessarily aware, I have read about people who buy a knock off and go into the store to pruchase the real jeans and then switch the tags and return the knock offs to the store.

Ebay seller DailyDenim sells authentic jeans for anyone who is interested (I don't know this person and I am not this person, I just used to read about jeans the way I read about hair now) :)

Yes, I have heard of this too about the stores with liberal return policies, like Nordstrom.
