Cutting Pockets Out of Your Jeans

I can't remember what i was watching, some fashion show or segment. This lady was talking about how women cut the pockets out of their jeans for a slimming effect.I was like "who does that?" I don't see how this could cause a big change in the way the jeans look on your body. Do any of you do this, becasue i'm just hearing about this for the first time.

I heard about this too! I guess it has a more slimming effect because you are getting rid of extra material in your hip area therefore making your jeans lay better without any buldges which make the hips appear wider. I never tried this before but I could see it working.

I never heard of cutting pockets out of jeans, but I have the pockets taken out of my dress/suit pants, then sewn shut. Otherwise you can see the outline of the pocket on my hip and I think removing them does make me look slimmer. I started doing this after I noticed Oprah never seems to have on pants with pockets (although sometimes her pants look a liitle tight, IMHO). I might try it with jeans though...

yeah, i was thinking about doing it too, but knowing me, i'll probably end up with a hole in the crotch or something like that. :look:

Were they talking about front pockets? I have never heard of anyone doing that (the front ones), but I have heard of people taking the back pockets off of jeans. It's amazing how different size pockets can make you look. Really big pockets can make your butt look flat. :eek:

Its probably the same thing as cutting the pockets out of slacks. It makes them fit a bit nicer. Sewing the pockets shut also creates a slimming effect as well.
