help! how good is your shoe game?

ladies - i have a formal birthday dinner to attend in december and i'm going to purchase this dress for the occasion:

here is my dilemma...i don't wear sandals/open toe shoes like the one the model has on (i have long ugly toes & like to keep the madness hidden :o :lol: ) so....i need shoes!

please help me find a style/shoe (pictures needed!) that is NOT OPEN TOE (small peep toe is okay) & will look cute with this dress....(preferably from nordstrom.com (http://shop.nordstrom.com/C/2372808/0%7E2376778%7E2372808?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=leftnav&pbo=2374327) which is where i found the dress - that way i can charge it ALL on my nordstroms card)

Is Nordstrum takin the piss? How come them shoes are so expensive? I was ready to help but them prcies made me close the window! You can wear anything, I wouldn't suggest the "in shoe"; that closed toe platform. Or any type of platform. Either pointy court or peep toe. Tell a lie there's some black patent platform peep toes under the "patent" shoe section. Sorry I can't link it, I was gettin palpitations lookin at prices, even AFTER I changed them to £, £100 for pair of shoes!?!!?? Is Nordstrums a big name?

nordstroms can get pricey but they also have an outlet store where things are marked down anywhere from 30 to 70%

i don't mind paying a lil extra for my shoes as long as they're complementary, well made and will last a while w/ good care

so you think patent leather would be okay? i was a lil iffy about that..sometimes it's just SO shiny!

Okay theres millions. If you don't want high go to the cros over ones, they look cute. UNLESS you got big feet (not being mean) in which cas eyou should go for the high ones, cos them middle heights/kitten heels can make some feet look like boats. I still vote for the patent peep toe, they might come in non-shiny I forgot to look. :)

these are my top picks. i tried to find a velvet one that matches the top of your dress. the cole hann's would be a lost resort cause they look kinda casual but would be the most comfortable. the other two are very feminine and will match your dress well.

oh and paper doll your toes probably aren't all that bad. and trust me i've seen some horrible feet out there. as long as you have them nicely pedicured/polished you should be ok. no one's gonna stare at your feet for five minutes (or at least i hope not). just a quick glance. your dress is gonna steal the attention anyway.

Sorry I didn't come back last night, sleepy time got me :(

The ones caramel picked and the other patent ones without the platform that you picked are all great. ANYTHING like those ones will be perfect and I'm glad you get me on the big feet!!!

I didn't pick red pairs because (correct me if im wrong) the bottom part of the dress is off white and it wont have the BAM that you'd get from it being just white, and so I think they'll just look weird. I also think the black, ivory, black will make a very elegant pattern.

oooo You need a black clutch too. You don't want nothing swinging from your shoulders. Ima brave the site again and see if they have any (ok so now im a bit addicted but there aint no overpriced nordstrums near me so I'm safe and I doubt they ship to England!)

That blue dress looks great. See how she can wear so many random colours because she's not trying to be elegant. I still don't have "anti-matching" down. I can't be wearing all different colours like that :dizzy:, makes me queasy. Anyway will be back with bags!
