I'm looking for a smooth semi-matte, pouty look for my lips. Can someone suggest a brand and color? I'm looking for one with sexy and warm color, and another with a warm, professional color.

Here's what I'm working with in terms of lips and skin tone

Brands I've tried
NARS - Love it, but not sure what color to get next
Milani - Like it sometimes but it's kind of greasy
MAC Lipglass - Not a true fan

Please helppp :)

What colors have you tried, since you only listed the brands?

This will probably work as a warm professional neutral....

L'oreal HIP lip gloss in Pixie

I like to mix my lipsticks... a combo that really works for me is lustre (mac) and photo (mac). Turns out not too red not too neutral.

Thanks for the suggestions. I found an OPI lipstick that I had stashed away. I was actually really really pleased with the color. I don't know why I had stopped using it. Maybe my problem is not with the color, but with the consistency of the lipstick. My lips tend to dry out easily with some lipsticks. I am hoping to find something that keeps my lips smooth, moist and colorful.

I tried and liked one of Bobbi Brown's matte colors from her 2005/2006 brown campaign and reallyl liked the consistency, but the color "Clay" was allllll wrong.

RelaxerRehab was right. L'Oreal HIP is a good line. I love their lipsticks, because they are moisturizing as well as highly pigmented. I was a former MAC snob until I used this line. Now, I'll only buy MAC Lipliner in Chestnut and the Lipglass (I believe. It's been awhile.) in Oyster Girl.

You may want to try Bobbi brown lipstick in Cocoa. My complexion is similiarto yours. I discovered this a few months ago, I love it. It is a very nice neutral color and looks good with a clear or opalescent gloss on top. I wear this almost everday to work now.

You would look nice with the lip colors Genevieve Jones is wearing here:

I don't know the lipstick brands and color she wears, but I wish I could raid her beauty cabinet and her closet.:love::love:
