Anyone?
If so, you up for a challenge until Christmas? Depending on what tapes you have, just 20 minutes everyday. ;)

I just started last week. I'm up for a challenge. I need the motivation.

I do Pilates and I will always do it. :D
Everyday is a bit much for me though. I do it Monday, Wednesday and Saturday (Sunday is hardcore cardio day) and I look forward to my days off. :)

So you only do cardio once a week?

So you only do cardio once a week?
yep. I am a single mom (12 year old son), I work full time, school part-time and I need to spend a little time with my honey to keep me through the week. Not to mention my hair care, time. :D I just don't have time for more than that.
But, really, I used to do more cardio. I bulk up kinda fast so I cut it out. Doing cardio once a week plus pilates while watching what I eat and staying otherwise active keeps me in order. But, because of that I have NO room for cheating on my eating habits. Around PMS time when the munchies are uncontrollable, I will add more cardio in for good measure.

Great, shall we set a day? Or have we all started already?
I did the pilates powerhouse AM workout this morning, and I feel great. I've decided to do that one when I'm at home, and winsor pilates when I'm in hotels.
I too don't do a lot of cardio because I get bulky really fast.

What results have you seen with Pilates?

I am in.. I will never stop doing Pilates...
SweetC: The results are just amazing. Often, people say that spot reduction is not possible through any exercice but this is not true for ME.
I have a pear shaper very pronounced. I wear size 6-8 for tops and bottom......14 and up.
So the more I diet the more my face and torso are skinnier but the bottom does not move. So Years ago I was introduced to pilates. In one month (doing it everyday for 20-25 minutes depending on the dvd) I was sooo toned. I slimmed down incredible. I lost inches and i think and even become taller????
I do Power step and other aerobic class almost everyday but really PIlates is my thing. I swear by it.
Let's start the challenge. I have winsor pilates: bun and tighs, abs, 20 minutes workout and accelerate workout. I will alternate. I also rented crunch pilates from Netflix and it is very good.
Now I should stop.. weeeew.

Can you please recommend a good DVD that is about 30 minutes of pilates for someone who is just starting out doing pilates.

It keeps me toned w/o the bulk. It also give me better flexibilty which helps with other workouts.

YAY! The challenge is on.
I'm going to aim for everyday, as I really would like to see my results quickly, and the stretching is really helping my back problems right now. I have winsor 20 minutes, buns and thighs, accelerated body sculpting and I also have pilates powerhouse AM. I've been reading good reviews for the classic pilates technique dvd too, and will be adding it to my library when I can.

Kia: I would say winsor pilates or the Crunch: Pick Your Spot Pilates.
I mean every dvd will do. Just start slow. Do not hurt yourself. I am sure other members will recommend other good picks.
But if you want to work your lower body I highly recommend winsor pilates:
bun and tighs
abs
and 20 minute workout
Do it faithfully for a month and you will see result. They say 2 or 3 times a week but I would do 5-6 times.
And yes I swear I do not work for Marie winsor Pilates.....(AHHA)

I've been doing Winsor Pilates off/on for several years. I take sculp class 3 times a week but I swear pilates is the majic. Whenever I get ready to go out of town or on vacation, I start back my 20 mininute pilates tape. I have other tapes but I prefer the Winsor pilates for some reason. I think because it was the tape I was using when I went to visit my weight critical family and they were all astounded on how slim I looked. I didn't bother telling them I weighed the same as before.:)

I want to do the challenge too! I used to go to mat classes when I was in northern VA, but I've stopped. But I love it! I'm in!! I'll start today!
I'm in. I think I can commit to 4 days. I will shoot for 5 though.
