I have combination skin so I dont usually use moisturizers for dry skin. but the cold weather means that my skin starts to get flaky. right now i am a little dry around the nose and moth and a bit on the forehead. how do you ladies comabt this? does anyone use vaseline on their face at night. I used it once or twice after I used a deilatory and it didnt break me out so can i get away with applying a tiny bit at night?

I like Grapeseed oil. I mix a drop into my sunscreen and then I use it by itself at night. It penetrates really well for me.

I actually like cetaphil moisturizing CREAM (not lotion). It's in a tub.

I use CareOne Vitamin E cream moisturizer (28,000 iu). Its very moisturizing and stops flakiness which I get around my chin in the Fall/Winter months.

I've usually purchased whichever store brand I happen to be shopping in at the time...Hawaiian Tropic is good, too. They have/used to have one with Cucumber Melon in it. Smelled yum.

Two drops of jojoba oil does the trick. Because jojoba oil mimicks our skin sebum, it absorbs really quickly without feeling or being greasy. I have acne-prone, sensitive combination skin which means I can't even rely on so-called "oil-free moisturisers" to do the job. Throughout last winter I would use jojoba oil (two drops into your palm, rub together and then moisturise your face), and not only did I not break out at all, but my skin was supple and glowy. Also, jojoba oil has proven to be a great base for foundation!!
Hope this helps!

Keep in mind that over the summer, heat and sun exposure thicken the skin. With oily and combo skin like mine, what this means for you is sometimes increased flakiness as the weather cools. The reason why is that even though you produce oil to lubricate your skin, the oil your skin produces is more viscous and thicker. This makes it harder for it to pentrate your skin especially the thicker skin you built up over the summer and you get increased flakiness. What helps me around this time is to do a light peel and you mositurizers with alot of light hydrating qualities like aloe vera gel that still help protect the skin from the elements. Hope this helps - Gymfreak336
