Don't laugh but I just started washing my face with a wash cloth. For years I would just use my cleanser and my hands. The other day I decided to try this method and my skin is soo smooth. I have a problem with my nose and chin area being clogged. Even when I get facials they can't seem to effectively deal with my chin area, now it is smooth and clog free.
P.S. - You wanna see how dirty you are try taking a shower with a white wash cloth... ewww :look:

One think I know I was doing wrong was,
I would just lather up with the cleanser, rub for like 5 seconds and rinse! OMG. Most cleansers say that you are supposed to leave them on for at least a minute or two! No wonder my face wasn't clean!
But, now I get into the tub, wash my hands first, then I cleanse and leave it on at least until I finish bathing. Then get out of the tub and rinse with clean water from the sink.

I was guilty of the quick rinse too until I read somewhere that it takes rubbing/scrubbing/massaging the productr into the skin for a minimum of 60 seconds. So now, at the end of my shower, I'll apply product to my face, massage it in for 60 seconds, or 3 alphabet songs.. and then let it sit on my skin while I rinse off. I have noticed a BIG difference

I only use a cloth if I am wearing makeup. Otherwise I just use my hands and the cleanser. I've been doing this since I was a teen. I think I read somewhere about bacteria on wash clothes exacerbating acne or tugging at the skin causing wrinkles. I don't know, it was so long ago.

I used to use cloths and soap, and my skin was fine. Then I got a load of spots and started trying all these different concoctions. I'm not back to cloth and soap, and my skin is good again. I bought a load of wash cloths and change them everyday.

I heard this too. I just use my hands with the cleanser. Most cleaners dont say to use a wash cloth in their directions for use. If I used a washcloth I would have to use a different one with every wash to avoid bacteria. That would be washing alot of washcloths....LOL

I usually use my hands because I use a foaming cleanser by Aveeno and it would probably dissolve before I could even put it on my face if I used a washcloth.
