I have a majorly LARGE gym bag and I'd love to pare down.

I have some ideas about how I can achieve this, but I was wondering what and how you ladies manage all of your accoutrements when you go to the gym...and of course, what you take. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/poke.gif http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here's what's in mine:

FULL SIZES OF most (this is the first problem - I just don't have enough little containers! Hmph)

VO5 conditioner (for CO washes full size)
Dove Shower Gel (this one at least is a trial size)
Keracare Silken Seal
Leave In (Pantene Bottle, Motions inside, I use it cuz the bottle is smaller)
Dream Curls (full size)
Moisturizer
Shower Puff
Facial Gel
Makeup Bag
Change of clothes
Flip Flops for the day http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Cocoa Butter Oil for after Shower
Cocoa Butter Lotion

A Lock
Headphones
A magazine or book

I wear my clothes to the gym to workout

Hey Tracy! http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/wave.gif
The only items that I carry in my gym bag are:

A jump rope
hand and leg weights (for jogging on the treadmill)
Muscle and Fitness training book

I plan to add a set of head phones, and that's about it. I go to the gym immediately after work, so I just shower and stuff once I get home. Or, I'll work out before I go to work and then shower and stuff. What times do you go to the gym? Do you go during your lunch break or something?

So people aren't taking SHOWERS at the gym then - yeah I go to the gym in the morning.....before work and it's close to the job, not the house, so I go to work directly from the gym...

Ok then.... http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I do ocassionally, when I have somewhere to go after the gym. But on those occasions, I'll take whatever I'm wearing, shampoo/condit, soap, lotion, deodorant.... but usually I'm going to the gym AFTER work, and then home again, home again, jiggity jig http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/trampoline.gif

I'm extremely phobic about showering at the gym, so I don't unless I have been swimming - in which case, I have to rinse that chlorine out of my hair. In my gym bag I have:

a towel
Extra Cds
lock
Sweat Pants
tshirt
Discman

I usually wear my gym clothes to the gym and then change into my sweats for the ride home. I shower at home.

Tracy-I dont even have a gym bag...just a fanny pack that has my keys, gym card, money, and lip balm in it. In the warm weather, I walk to the gym in my workout clothes and walk home. In cold weather, I drive to the gym before work. Then I come home, shower, and dress for work. For some reason, the thought of showering at the gym skeeves me out....

Hi Tracy. I'm new here (been lurking for a while though). I too go to the gym first thing in the morning for cardio and right after work for weight training. I have alot in my gym bag as well. It's not a big problem because I keep the same things in the bag like soaps, shampoos, makeup, etc., and the only thing I have to add everyday is the clothes that I am wearing to work and undergarments since I go to the gym with my workout clothes on. Also I don't have a regular gym bag. I use a messenger-sling bag and it has alot of compartments for my things and is easier to carry.

Girl,

Nothin' but some deodorant! But that's only when I take a bag--like if I'm gonna be coming from somewhere else. Otherwise, when I go to the gym--I usually am coming from home and heading back home.
