Can't take it anymore

Posted 04-18-2013 at 01:31 AM by isawstars

I scheduled an appointment to get texlaxed. I'm really bored of my hair. I either want to chop it off or texlax. I decided to texlax. ...obviously. I'm really excited.

I loved being texlaxed besides the inconsistancy in my curl pattern every now and then. I thought my stylist was keeping me from retaining length but after being free of them for a year, it's not true. After looking at my fotki, my hair looked best when I stylist trimmed it every 3 months instead of myself....

Just a quick update to document my wash day.

After a lazy 2 or 3 weeks (I lost count) I finally washed my hair. I blow dried with the tension method then flat ironed the back and front... leaving the middle as is. I've been working out a lot, so my logic is that it's not worth the effort... it's just gonna revert in less than a week anyways.

On another note, I'm thinking about getting a sew in to figure out if I try want to texlax. I played with my hair during wash...

Returning to Texlaxed???

Posted 03-29-2013 at 09:50 AM by isawstars

I've been thinking about doing so the last couple of days. I'm 95% sure I will make the switch. I haven't had any hardships as a natural besides the humidity being my enemy.

I just miss my texlaxed hair. I LOVED being texlaxed. I decided to become natural because I had breakage from combing without conditioner... I cut my APL hair to ear length and thought, "well might as well go natural!"

The only thing I didn't like about being texlaxed were...

I had my first profrofessional cut in almost 2 years. I went to Brixton Hue and had Laurie wash, flat iron and cut. I let Laurie cut more than I initially wanted because she said my length made my hair look very then and she also go read of the remaining texlaxed ends.... which may have caused my hair to stick together. That issue was drying me crazy. Details about having a white stylist are in this post: My 1st White Stylist as a Natural.

I had an awesome flat ironing session.

I used mizani therma smooth extend after blow drying. I put my arms up higher and flipped my wrist for additionall tension that helped a lot with the silkiness.

If I can just find a better anti humidity product I will be all set!

This lasted two weeks. The first week I only did weight training. The second week I started doing cardio and it started reverted almost immediately.
