The ingredient list on Burt Bee's product's looks very promising. But I haven't gotten 1 of these products to do anything for my hair.

Let's start with the DC. The smell was horrible. It smelled like the bathroom at a public park. I tried to use it as a DC and a prepoo and it was just awful. If you read...

Posted 12-27-2012 at 10:21 AM by faithVA

In a previous post I was trying to figure out if the LOC order mattered. At that time I couldn't tell the difference between the left and right side of my hair when I tried different orders.

In the past few weeks I have changed the way I do things and have found that order does matter. I am current do the LOC but more of LOLC and it has helped significantly. Finally!

"L" Step
The first step was to let my hair absorb the water after rinsing. I no longer...

End of Year Update

Posted 12-20-2012 at 03:27 PM by faithVA

My 6 month big chop update with be February but just wanted to note some progress. I will probably post a scalp update at the end of the year.

Since my big chop in August I have learned quite a bit about my hair. It isn't the hair I remember from the first time I big chopped. Nor was...

As I Am Cleansing Conditioner vs. Hair One

Posted 11-11-2012 at 07:34 PM by faithVA

I love my Terressentials Mudwash but I only use it once a month. So I have been looking for something to use every week. Several weeks ago I purchased the As I Am Coconut Cowash Cleansing Conditioner. I also purchased a sample of the Hair One Olive Oil for dry hair and the Hair One Argan Oil for curly hair.

I used the As I Am and really liked it. It didn't strip my hair and my hair didn't cause the major shrinkage of other shampoos. My hair felt clean but not stripped. So I was happy...

3 Months Post BC

Posted 11-04-2012 at 02:14 PM by faithVA

It was 3 months ago that I cut my hair back to 2". I have struggled but learned a few things since then. I did a 1/4 to 1/2 dusting in October. I now have 3.5 to 4.5" of hair depending on the sections. My hair isn't where I want it but it is growing and I am retaining.

For the first 3 months I alternated between a knotty fro or a twist out. On Friday, I wore my first puff. It was not the best but it worked.

I will try to wear coils until the end of December...
