Next Steps

Posted 03-18-2013 at 03:47 PM by faithVA

I have added protein to my regimen and I have trimmed away most of the mid-shaft splits and have received my Komaza Care Follow-Up Analysis. As a result I was directed to do protein treatments every other week and to moisturize and seal my hair every day.

Starting Sunday, March 17th, I will start a new regimen which I will use for 4 weeks before re-evaluating.

Objectives:
1. Test out 4 Naturals Products
2. Moisturize Daily
3. Rebalance Moisture/Protein...

Wen Ginger Pumpkin on My Low Porosity 4b Natural Hair

Posted 01-07-2013 at 12:56 PM by faithVA
Updated 02-27-2013 at 09:25 AM by faithVA

A fellow LHCFer sent me a few samples and among them were Wen Ginger Pumpkin, Wen 316 and Wen Fig. After trying the As I Am Cleansers and the Hair One Cleansers I was excited to try the Wen but not ready to pay the money because of my hair and product history.

Yesterday I prepooed with Deva Curl One. This is still the best instant conditioner I have ever used. I may repurchase this later in the year. Since I am rocking coils, I did a partial detangle outside the shower and then finished...

2013 Start of Year Regimen

Posted 12-20-2012 at 03:37 PM by faithVA

If you have read previous posts then you know I have had regimens but none successful. I think now I have a start of one that will carry me through 2013.

I intend to wear finger coils through the 1st quarter to keep my hands out of my hair. I will reassess my style in April to see if I have other alternatives.

I will continue to wash weekly until my hair is long enough to allow me to cowash and style quickly mid-week.

PREPOO
Will prepoo with a...

Komaza Care Hair Analysis Recommendations

Posted 07-18-2012 at 09:40 AM by faithVA

The first line of business is to cut off the damage. She recommend a trim every 4 to 6 weeks until the damage is gone. But at this stage it's too risky becuase the splits are moving up the strand too fast. So I'm going to chop once and be done with it. I've already trimmed twice since June anyway.

After my cut, I should be left with healthy hair. The following recommendations were given to me based on the hair she could analyze. I will receive an updated version after 2 or 3 months...

2011 Milestones and Achievements

Posted 02-22-2012 at 09:29 PM by faithVA
Updated 02-22-2012 at 09:48 PM by faithVA

It's easy to forget the progress that I have made. Now that I am on my journey to APL, it is easy to forget how much I achieved in 2011. So this post is just for my own encouragement during my 2012 journey, to remind myself that progress is always being made no matter how small.
  • Reached SL milestone
  • Reached CBL milestone
  • Crown started to fill in November
  • Did my first henna
  • Cut all color from my hair
  • Wore my first banana clip bun
  • Shortened twisting time from 4 hrs to 2
  • Switched
