I have to accept the fact that steaming is just not for me. I dread the thought of having to sit under the steamer. It just reminds me of sitting under the dryer. So I have given up my journey of steaming for 2011.

I prefer my heat cap and I seem to see better results.

Since I purchased the steamer I do want to use it. Once I reach APL I will try it again. I am thinking with longer hair it won't take me as long to style my hair so maybe I won't see the steamer as just...

I have skipped several weeks of steaming. It is not one of my favorite things. And I am still questioning whether I cna tell the difference between steaming versus conditioning with my heat cap.
I vowed to steam at least every other week until the end of the year. Then I will probably switch to 1x a month unless I can notice the difference.

--Mixed AOHSR and Zuresh conditioner and flax seed oil and applied to hair.

--Reapplied conditioner after steaming and let it sit for 2 hours.


I really dislike sitting under the steamer ...

Tried it a little different this week. I applied the Zuresh conditioner with some oils and raked it through my hair and I let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes. I steamed with my hair hanging down instead of piled or pinned up.

I put the steamer directly on the table and not on a phone book. That had the top of the steamer right at the top of my head and I left all the vent holes open. I think that worked out because more of my hair came into contact with the steamer.

Cleaned my steamer with water and ACV rinse and then ran filtered water through it.

Applied Zuresh conditioner and used filtered water. I had my hair in large twists so I pinned it up the best I could. But the steamer really gets too hot for my scalp so I keep the steam holes open at the top.
