30+ Days of Daily Moisturizing (Days 22-28)

Posted 04-08-2013 at 09:40 AM by faithVA

No major improvements yet but definitely improvements. My hair stays at least a 6.5 and I think I can keep it at least a 7.5. The protein has definitely helped. The daily moisturizing would do nothing without it. I think cowashing will help but I need more length for a quick go to style before I can do it more.

Last week I learned:
1. Misting and baggying prevents me from having to mist each section. But not sure if misting with water, misting with tea or misting with diluted...

Next Steps

Posted 03-18-2013 at 03:47 PM by faithVA

I have added protein to my regimen and I have trimmed away most of the mid-shaft splits and have received my Komaza Care Follow-Up Analysis. As a result I was directed to do protein treatments every other week and to moisturize and seal my hair every day.

Starting Sunday, March 17th, I will start a new regimen which I will use for 4 weeks before re-evaluating.

Objectives:
1. Test out 4 Naturals Products
2. Moisturize Daily
3. Rebalance Moisture/Protein...

A Long Way to NL

Posted 02-13-2013 at 10:28 PM by faithVA

I've had decent growth in 6 months but I have also lost a lot through trims. I currently have about 4" all over. NL is my first goal and I have a long way to go.

I have a big head and a long neck. I know some people disagree. I know people that can reach length goals with 6" to 8" of hair. I can't reach any length goals with anything less than 10" of hair. I need at least another 2" of hair before I can wear two strand twists that start to hang to my eyebrows....

3 Months Post BC

Posted 11-04-2012 at 02:14 PM by faithVA

It was 3 months ago that I cut my hair back to 2". I have struggled but learned a few things since then. I did a 1/4 to 1/2 dusting in October. I now have 3.5 to 4.5" of hair depending on the sections. My hair isn't where I want it but it is growing and I am retaining.

For the first 3 months I alternated between a knotty fro or a twist out. On Friday, I wore my first puff. It was not the best but it worked.

I will try to wear coils until the end of December...

Two Years and Starting All Over

Posted 06-05-2012 at 04:35 PM by faithVA

Over the weekend I put in curlformers so I could trim my ends. After looking at my hair, it pretty much turned into a hair cut I had to trim between 1" to 2.5". It could have been more. Before the cut my hair was in layers: CBL, SL, NL and nape length. Now my hair is between EL (I hope) and NL.

I tried to cheer myself up with, now you have healthy ends but that didn't work. I am back where I was when I took my kinky twists out in the summer of 2010. It's just been...
