Done Revisiting Old Products

Posted 04-11-2013 at 02:30 PM by faithVA

The title is only partially true. I am done revisiting old products that did not work. I thought since I have cut off the heat damaged hair and added protein to my regimen that perhaps products would work on my hair now. That is not the case. Products may work slightly better but not enough to be good. So anything that was a fail before is still a fail.

I am now going to trust my instincts. If something is telling me that won't work for you, then I am going to trust that voice....

30+ Days of Daily Moisturizing (Days 22-28)

Posted 04-08-2013 at 09:40 AM by faithVA

No major improvements yet but definitely improvements. My hair stays at least a 6.5 and I think I can keep it at least a 7.5. The protein has definitely helped. The daily moisturizing would do nothing without it. I think cowashing will help but I need more length for a quick go to style before I can do it more.

Last week I learned:
1. Misting and baggying prevents me from having to mist each section. But not sure if misting with water, misting with tea or misting with diluted...

30+ Days of Daily Moisturizing (Days 15-21)

Posted 04-02-2013 at 12:31 PM by faithVA

My hair is still breaking but It definitely is less than before. I think it needs more protein because it tends to break when I am misting it and then trying to twist. When my hair is dry there is little to no breakage. Moisturizing and sealing every day is still a challenge but so far I have been consistent. My hair is starting to feel better and look just a little better.

Last week I learned:
--Tight curls/twist make my hair appear to be hard. I need to wait an hour after...

Regimen:

Pre-poo with a warm oil. Finger detangle and braid in sections. Deep condition on dry hair under steamer or hooded dryer once a week or every two weeks, depending on style. Next Steps

Posted 03-18-2013 at 03:47 PM by faithVA

I have added protein to my regimen and I have trimmed away most of the mid-shaft splits and have received my Komaza Care Follow-Up Analysis. As a result I was directed to do protein treatments every other week and to moisturize and seal my hair every day.

Starting Sunday, March 17th, I will start a new regimen which I will use for 4 weeks before re-evaluating.

Objectives:
1. Test out 4 Naturals Products
2. Moisturize Daily
3. Rebalance Moisture/Protein...
