Henna Application - 2 Step Process

Posted 08-01-2011 at 09:55 PM by faithVA

Previously I applied several applications of the Medium Brown henna to cover my gray. I think it did pretty well. Four weeks later I still have good coverage. But I decided to see if doing the 2 step process is better.

Friday night I prepared the red henna and shampooed, twisted and let my hair dry. I did not DC before doing the henna, although I should have since my hair had been in extensions for 4 weeks.

Henna Application II

Posted 06-27-2011 at 10:26 AM by faithVA

The instructions suggest to try handling gray coverage with multiple applications or combining the red henna with the desired henna color or with a 2 step process of first applying the red henna for an hour and then applying the desired color. I decide to try the repeat applications.

I had tea mix left over from the previous week which I allowed to reach room temperature. I used 7 TBSP of medium brown henna and mixed with the tea mix and allowed it to sit overnight. I ran out of henna...

My 1st Henna

The 1st time I did henna in 2009, my hair came out so hard I ended up shaving my hair.

This time I decided to go with Moroccan Method Medium Brown Henna after my positive experience with the Zen Detox.

It was easy to mix. I mixed 7 TBSP of henna with a tea mixture (tea, lemon juice, sea salt and yogurt) and let it sit for 30 minutes. I left it on for 30 minutes. I have large patches of gray in the front, as well as large patches of red from a rinse that didn't take....
