Well the good news is that this blog will be almost 1 year old in June. I have learned so much about my hair and sharing it with others who can also help me. What I've learned so far has some parts of my hair to APL ALREADY! I am so excited about this because I started at neck shoulder length and it previously took me 4 years to get to this length. But now with better retention I am see much faster results.

It was 3 months ago that I cut my hair back to 2". I have struggled but learned a few things since then. I did a 1/4 to 1/2 dusting in October. I now have 3.5 to 4.5" of hair depending on the sections. My hair isn't where I want it but it is growing and I am retaining.

For the first 3 months I alternated between a knotty fro or a twist out. On Friday, I wore my first puff. It was not the best but it worked.

I will try to wear coils until the end of December...

We were all beautifully made. Our brains are magnificent in how we are able to mentally adjust – breaking through mental barriers and overcoming hurdles. I have always wanted to grow my natural hair, just as long if not longer, than my relaxed hair length. Now, I am well on my way. Times like these (when I'm feeling like my hair isn't growing) I'm grateful for the pictures I've taken along way.

For a very long time I along with many others have believed in the myth about black hair. The myth that states that black women cant have long hair, and if they do it means they have some sort of mix in them. I grew to accept that my hair would only grow to shoulder length and even that would be a struggle......:sad:
