“I Am Letting Go”: Everything Will Turn Out Just Fine, It Always Does Anyway!
God is seated on the throne, loves us, and is a Good God. Everything will turn out good for us irrespective of what is happening right now that we don’t like. Hence, it means that we can forge ahead with confidence and enjoy our lives RIGHT NOW. LIVE YOUR LIFE. We don’t have to be sulking, pouting, complaining, despondent, or crying. The sun will shine again and the storming will stop: “You did it: you changed wild lament into whirling dance; you ripped off my black mourning band and decked me with wildflowers. I'm about to burst with song; I can't keep quiet about you. God, my God, I can't thank you enough (Psalm 30:11-12 MSG).” On the other side of the storm, you will be wiser, better and stronger than ever if you kept the right attitude.
In the meanwhile, here are some things to think about:
Seek Divine Guidance. The most important thing is to learn to hear the voice of God for ourselves for direction and instruction. It is promised to us that we will be instructed and guided in the way in which we should go (Psalm 32). Thus, pray for guidance. Then, sit and relax. During this period, be on the lookout for divine guidance and also, for confirmation of it. We need to follow through with the set instructions for us to walk into victory (1 Corinthians 15:57). His instructions will line up with the Word of God. If we do make a mistake, it is okay because it will help us in the future to develop greater sensitivity to His voice and distinguish when He is instructing us.
Disregard messages that don’t add value to your life. We cannot take ourselves too seriously nor others. Sometimes, people say stuff intentionally or unintentionally at the wrong times to us, but we can choose to accept it or reject it. If what they are saying is true, then we need listen and make the corrective adjustments. At times, we too have said foolish things to others and want them to forgive us for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. Therefore, extend the same amount of mercy to others. Just shake off it off and keep moving. If you worry about straightening out everyone, you will be wasting a lot of time and energy. Thus, you will not be making any progress.
Stay Positive, Just Shake Off The Negative. Everyone has things that they can absolutely go postal about or be in the dumps. However, we can choose to focus on the things we can control and the things that are right in our lives. We have to remember that there are people who are worse off than us and wishing to be us TODAY. As a result, we can be appreciative of the good things in our lives (i.e., shelter, clothing, family, food, etc) as we wait for things to shift in our favor.
Let go of petty grievances. We have one life to live and it is short. We are wasting time holding onto petty offenses, carrying on unprofitable arguments, and seeking revenge against our offenders. At some point, we have to be tired of holding onto the resentment, anger, bitterness or unforgiveness. We will NEVER receive Olympic medals or be honorable mentions for these things. Moreover, on our deathbeds, they will not really matter to us. Don’t wait until then to realize how foolish it was to keep striving and fighting for these things. We are here to uncover our purpose in life. We should be positioning ourselves to give our talents, abilities, and passions away to the world. Then, take advantage of the extraordinary opportunities that show up along the way.
