God Wants Us Whole— Not Tainted Forever By Major Disappointments or Severe Hurts
For I will heal you. I will heal you where you have been hurt,’ says the Lord, ‘because they have said that you are not wanted. They have said, “It is Zion. No one cares for her (Jeremiah 30:17 NLV).”
Major disappointments, trauma, or a series of hurts are not to be pushed down, but dealt with for us to move forward and not contaminate others around us in the future. Time doesn’t guarantee all wounds will be healed. For instance, a woman on a documentary retold her story and said that she is still in pain over events that happened 30 years ago. Nonetheless, this doesn’t have to be our story neither should it be her story because every form of emotional trauma was born on Cross (Isaiah 53:4, 5; Luke 4:18). We are guaranteed freedom. As children of God, it is not okay to still be wounded by an event that happened 30 years ago and you have had a personal relationship with God for the last 20 years: “Now may God himself, the God of peace, make you pure, belonging only to him. May your whole self—spirit, soul, and body—be kept safe and without fault when our Lord Jesus Christ comes (1 Thessalonians 5:23 NCV).” Yes, healing is a gradual process. Yes, in the process, we will experience some ups and downs. Yet, if it has been several years, you need to seek the help of a pastor, Christian counselor or Christian psychologists because they will help you to see things that are invisible to you to bring you into wholeness. It is your time to be healed and made whole NOW. Also, it is time for us to be used by God to help others cross over into wholeness.
Uncured emotional hurts open the way for resentment, anger, bitterness, depression, and anxiety to creep in. Therefore, we have to make the resolution to forgive others despite the gravity of the hurt. Forgiveness doesn’t mean that you will not still experience symptoms of feelings as though you are going crazy or the painfulness of the events. However, it creates a pathway for healing to begin. There is no use in holding onto the offenses because it injures us and the wrongdoer has simply moved on to do their wickedness to another unsuspecting party. In most situations, it was never about you to begin with and you don’t have to remain a victim. Change the story by becoming a hero and overcoming it. UNTIL NEXT TIME, GOD LOVES YOU AND HE HAS YOUR VERY BEST INTERESTS AT HEART. I LOVE YOU TOO VERY MUCH.
