Quick recap. I knew the blowout I got on June 25 my front area was singed. I didn't have official proof but that hair just felt different. I think in November I found a hair in that area that was split in the shaft but nothing else. Last week I found more hair split on the ends and a few going up the shaft. I decided to just cut it all to about 1/2 inch - 1 inch relaxed hair so now I have a mullet, lol. Trimming just did not make sense because some were going up hair shafts and I would be darned if it got to my new growth, nothing worse than natural damaged hair to me. What's funny is to have this happen as I am transitioning. It really just means I wont have blending issues with half wigs cus there is nothing to blend after my headband .

    I'm in the process of growing out the front and sides of my hair as well. The back is BSL, the sides are neck length, and my bangs touch the bridge of my nose. My goal is to grow my bangs out and grow my sides to at least APL.


    You have ambition I am not sure if I have any. I guess for this front hair to eventually be a decent length then I probably wont care much. I can say thank goodness for transitioning. What I do to relaxed ends don't really matter. Good luck with your growth, though I suspect you will do great.

    My older sister prides herself on her mullets. She's a 3b, so boy can she rock a mullet to its fullest potentional. We've taken to calling her George Washington because her hair resembles that of our fine former president.
