Okay,
So after reading parts 1 or 2, you may be feeling like there are lots of consequences for things you cannot control. Besides, the bible says that we all have fallen short of the glory. The bible also says that "he that says he is without sin is a liar." So we should just accept that, right?
No, we all are sinners and do fall short. But recognize that Christ was tempted by sin in ALL ways just as we are, yet he did not sin. His word tells us to be ye holy, for he is holy. It also says be ye perfect. The bible clearly states that he has made a way of escape for us. There are no excuses. Every time we sin we are presented with two choices, either serve God or serve ourselves. I don't know about you all but I am not perfect, I sometimes choose the latter. BUT, we don't have too. I like mangachan's signature, because it says "prayer is always the right answer." When you first think about disobeying God's law, imagine what would happen if you just stopped right there and immediately started to pray. And what if you prayed in the spirit, would God not help you? Wouldn't he restrain you from saying the wrong thing or doing the wrong thing?
It is always a choice. Remember when Jesus was tempted by the devil, what is the first thing he did?! He quoted the bible, specifically that "man shall not live by word alone." Declare the word as Christ did. We can do this saints! Of course, God knows our frame and that we are weak and takes pity on us, its says so in the Psalms. Yes, we know that God's mercy and grace are new everyday. But like I said before, we can do better. We can grow up in Christ. I really believe God will honor it if you do, because his word says that he shows favor to the righteous. Let's get this right. We are not perfect but we can sincerely strive for perfection. We accomplish this by always choosing God over ourselves. And when you continually do it, it will become easier. Righteousness will become a lifestyle, just like sin can become a lifestyle. We all have areas we need to work on. Let's choose God like Joshua did. Let's stop choosing ourselves. "Choose ye this day whom YOU will serve!"
